| A New Chapter in Service and Teaching The Lineages and the transmission behind our practice are truly the lifeblood of the teachings, and they help care for us all. In keeping with tradition and with the blessing of Lama Karma Chimé Shore and Dharma friends, I was anointed as Lama Karma Sonam Dhagpo on September 21, 2024. This is a precious honour that I hold dear, with sincere respect and appreciation. With Lama Chimé’s invitation and the support of Anne, the committee, and the wider community, I’ll be stepping into the roles of Resident Elder Lama and Landcare Officer at Origins Centre and Coorain starting in February 2026. I intend to continue responsible transmission and care of the Dharma, the Centre, and the land, as Chimé and Anne begin a transition toward retirement. The core vision and purpose of Origins and Tig-Le will remain: to continue offering the support of traditional mindfulness and Buddha-Dharma teachings, to foster Refuge, and to care for the welfare of all who attend. We will maintain a strong focus on community, earthcare, and mindful living. Throughout this transition, Tig-Le will remain an active centre for gathering, connecting, studying, and practising mindfulness and the Dharma together. With heartfelt gratitude to all who support this Path. I hope this development brings benefit to all of us as we continue to foster the flourishing of peacefulness, health, and Refuge found in compassionate ways of being in the world. Chimé, Anne, and I will continue to work closely together over the next year to provide for a smooth and supportive transition for all involved. My heartfelt thanks to Wendy, my family, and each of you for your support during this transition. I look forward to continuing our relationships of care, friendship, and practice with all of you for many years to come. Sincerely Sonam/Ian |
