2025 Pilgrimage to visit our Dharma family and friends at the Karma Chokor Dechen Ling Nunnery in Rumtek, Sikkim, India.

Hi, friends of Tig-Le,

I hope this message finds you all doing well and happy!

We are just back from our pilgrimage to Rumtek, Sikkim, to visit our Dharma family at the Karma Chokor Dechen Nunnery and friends at Nedo Monastery. It is a joy to be in the presence of the Ani’s (nuns) each day and their community.

Daily, we participate in Puja practice, meals, long walks, visits to historical sites, community activities, along with mindfulness and Buddhadharma teaching sessions for our travel group.The Ani are an inspiring embodiment of peace, Refuge and genuine care in this world. We send them all our love and continued support, and look forward to visiting again. Tashi Shog!

All our regular sessions begin again at Tig-Le next week, starting Monday, the 28th of April. Please see dates and times below.The pattern remains the same as last term, with weekly open house mindfulness sessions on Monday and Tuesday, and the registered Dharma group gathering on Wednesday evenings; Thursdays is mindful walking in the morning.

We have three retreats this term: the May mindfulness weekend at Origins Centre, the Mahayana retreat at Coorain, and the annual Dharma campout. Details can be seen below.

Monday Mindfulness – Open House, 28th April to 9th June, 7pm – 8pm @ Tig-Le House. These open-house mindfulness sessions are open to anyone wanting to sit and cultivate mindfulness in an open and dedicated way with an experienced teacher-practitioner. Open to those who are new to practice and continuing students and practitioners. Monday Mindfulness – Open House, Term 2, 2025

Tuesday Mindfulness – Open House, 29th April to 10th June, 10am – 11am @ Tig-Le House. These sessions are open to anyone interested in learning and practising mindfulness techniques. These sessions cover aspects of both traditional and contemporary approaches, emphasising how mindfulness applies to everyday life. All are welcome. Tuesday Mindfulness – Term 2, 2025

Wednesday’s Dharma Study and Practice Group – Registered Group, 30th April to 11th June, 7pm – 8:30pm @ Tig-Le House. This term, we explore the Mahayana teachings and associated meditations on the Seven-Point Mind Training attributed to Atisha in cultivating Bodhicitta and the Wisdom of Compassion through the Puja to Chenzei text. Experience with mindfulness is essential. Participation is via prior registration only. Due to the nature of the teaching, it is not possible to attend on a drop-in basis. Thursday’s Mindful Walking Group, 1st May to 12th June, 9am – 10am, Various locations. Join us for weekly community mindful walking. We walk purposefully together in silence, discovering how to move calmly and peacefully through life. All are welcome. Term 2, Retreats

May Mindfulness weekend with Sonam at Origins Centre, 31st May & 1st June, Saturday 9am & 3pm, Sunday 9am @ Origins Centre, Jayes Rd, Balingup, W.A. These weekends are open to anyone wanting to sit and cultivate mindfulness in an open and dedicated way. Mindfulness is our capacity to attend to experiences with kindness and care, become increasingly familiar with them, and foster calm, ethical, and peaceful responses. Stay onsite at the Centre or offsite. Daily attendance is welcome. Booking is required. May Mindfulness Weekend with Sonam at Origins Centre 2025

Mahayana, Seven-Point Mind Training Retreat at Coorain and Origins Centre. Held from the 16th to the 20th of June 2025 with Lama Sonam, it is an opportunity for dedicated practice exploring the Buddha Dharma teachings on the Seven-Point Mind Training technique attributed to Atisha. These teachings and associated meditations, including Metta, Tonglen and others, support the cultivation of Bodhicitta and the Wisdom of Matured Compassion. The retreat offers a balance of Dhamma talks, mindfulness and meditative instruction, Puja practice, and personal time. Experience with mindfulness is essential. The Annual Dharma Campout is planned for the 28th of June to the 4th of July, by invitation to formal students and Sangha practitioners. This is held north of Perth on private property and requires fully self-sufficient camping on rural/agricultural land and self-governing practice experience supported by teaching and guidance.
