Mindfulness 8-Week Course – Online & In Person
Join us for an 8-week mindfulness course offered both in person at Tig-Le Studio in Margaret River and online via Zoom. This course introduces the foundations of mindfulness in a steady, sequential way, supporting participants to build confidence, consistency, and a holistic understanding of practice.

About the Course
What We Will Cover
- Setting up for practice: practical frameworks for creating the conditions to practise mindfulness with attentive kindness and care.
- Mindful awareness of the body: learning to notice physical sensations and embodied experience with curiosity and gentleness.
- Mindful awareness of emotions, thoughts and feelings: developing awareness of mental and emotional patterns without needing to suppress, avoid, or over-identify with them.
- Breath, and the senses: build understanding of how practice is supported by the breath and sensory awareness.
- Mindful awareness of Mind: discover what ‘Mind’ is and the relational aspects of experience.
- Guided and silent practice: experience both guided practice and periods of personal silent practice.
- Integration and application in daily life: techniques to bring mindfulness into everyday life.

Costs
The registration link will take you to a page with our sliding-scale cost options. Please select the option that best suits you. We offer standard, concession, and low-income options ranging from $80 to $240 for the 8-week course for both online and in-person attendance. We do not require proof of concessions, etc.
Protocols and Agreements
- Video on: Online participants are asked to keep their video on so we can confirm the identity of attendees for privacy reasons and help maintain a connected, respectful online practice environment.
- One participant per registration: Each online registration is for one person only. The course is not suitable for groups watching together from another location under a single booking. The Zoom link is non-transferable.
- Join from a quiet, private space: Please attend from a place where you can participate without unnecessary interruptions and where other people cannot overhear the group session.
- In-person participant privacy: Online participants will not be able to see the in-person participants. The only person visible to those joining online will be the teacher, Lama Sonam.
- Online participant visibility: Online participants will be visible only to our volunteer managing Zoom, audio, and camera technology, as well as to the teacher, when needed for facilitation.
- Confidentiality: Please respect the privacy of both in-person and online participants. Do not share personal reflections, questions, or experiences offered by others outside the course.
- Mute on entry: Participants will be muted on entry to reduce background noise. Please remain muted unless invited to speak.
- Questions and participation: Opportunities will be provided for online attendees to ask questions. Depending on the session flow, questions may be offered verbally, through the chat, or supported by the Zoom volunteer.
- Arrive on time: Please log in a few minutes early so you can settle in and check your audio and video before the session begins. The session will be locked 10 minutes after the start time.
- Use your registered name: Please join Zoom using the name you registered with so we can confirm attendance and maintain a safe online space.
- No recording or screenshots: Please do not record sessions, take screenshots, or capture images. You are welcome to take notes of the teachings shared.
- Minimise distractions: Please avoid multitasking during the session where possible to support and maintain a settled practice environment.
- Respectful communication: Please consider others’ welfare by using respectful language and appropriate sharing. Questions should remain relevant to the training and supportive of the group environment.
The Teacher
Lama Sonam is the Senior resident mindfulness and Dharma teacher at Tig-Le House of Dharma in Margaret River, Western Australia. Drawing on more than thirty years of meditation experience and a background in environmental conservation and community engagement, Sonam brings a practical, down-to-earth approach to mindfulness. His teachings weave together traditional wisdom and contemporary understanding. He’s known for making mindfulness and meditation understandable, accessible and supportive.
