Tig-Le House Newsletter 5th July 2021

Hi friends of Tig-Le,

The Southern winter is well in the swing of things as we passed the winter solstice, the sunlight hours gradually extending, and the lag effect of cold wet weather unfolds. A beautiful time of year as the rainfall nourishes deep, the rivers and oceans are fed, the inner depth is alive, a time to be cradled by the inner creative fires.

Tig-Le will be closed from Friday 2nd July, reopening from Wednesday 21st July.

Thursday’s regular morning Dharma study and practice group has had a dedicated attendance, and together we explore practice and creative responses to the beautiful teachings within the Universalist dharma tradition. We have open dialogues, do personal journaling, along with freely contributing to collective writing in the form of bodhicitta thoughts and prayers. We have started doing some creative activities including painting meditative visualizations. We look forward to doing more of this. Many thanks to everyone involved.

The weekly, mindful walking group often Wednesdays 9am, is getting increasingly comfortable with the practice and familiar with the Wooditjup Bilya, the Margaret River, around Barrett Street Weir area. We begin with a welcome and practice instruction. We then walk together in silence often finding a suitable place to stand and observe the river. Occasionally we do a guided standing meditation before walking back in silence. You can join the Tig-Le mindful walking group We also have a mindful walking messenger group for those who do not use Facebook. Contact us to be added to the chat group.
Next term we walk a new spot.

Next term we return to regular weekly Wednesday evening mindfulness 7.30pm. These are suited to beginners and experienced practitioners. There is no end to the depth, reach and potential of our natural mindful capacity. Mindfulness requires establishment, development, and maintenance.
All the dates can be seen here at Wednesday evening mindfulness.
We begin with an introductory session Establishing mindfulness Wednesday 21st July 7:30pm, All welcome.

Also, weekly Thursday mornings Dharma studies and practice 9am. These sessions cover formal foundation secular-sacred Buddhadharma teachings and contemplative meditation practices through Puja. Puja derives from the Dravidian word for ‘flower’ and is often associated with sacred practice.
Puja in the context of the dharma trainings done through Tig-Le House, means to give our attention to valuable teachings, trainings, precious wisdoms that emerge into human awareness through lifes vast dynamic. We draw on traditional texts expressed in contemporary language.
Term 3 beginnings with the ‘Seven points of mind training on compassion’, Dharma study and practice: Puja and contemplative meditation  Thursday 22nd July 9am.
